Welcome to apply for a job with us! About the Job The research assistant will primarily work on project administration as well as simpler material collection and research tasks within the framework of the research projects “Working Conditions of Local Politicians” and “Hidden Connections and Dark Interests.” The tasks include assisting the project leader with basic project administration (meeting scheduling, organizing workshops/seminars, supporting data management, and tracking milestones and deadlines) as well as conducting simpler research tasks (e.g., material collection such as media analysis, interviews, and transcriptions) as well as gathering previous research and writing literature reviews. Additionally, there may be opportunities to perform simpler research tasks within the framework of other research projects, as well as being available for efforts to build CKS as a research environment and implement CKS's long-term research programs. The research assistant is also expected to actively participate in departmental activities such as seminars, research retreats, and workshops. About You We are looking for someone with a master's degree in political science, economics, or sociology. Your degree should be completed before the application deadline. We want you to have: • Documented interest in municipalities and municipal politics (which can be demonstrated through, for example, the theme of your thesis or other work from your undergraduate studies). • Documented experience of working independently (which can be shown through, for example, your thesis or other work from your undergraduate studies). • Documented ability to maintain work discipline and meet deadlines (which can be evidenced by, for example, submitting your thesis or other work from your undergraduate studies on time). • Experience in analyzing media reporting (content analysis, text analysis) and/or experience in working with quantitative methods (or a stated ambition to learn quantitative methods). • Good collaboration skills, strong organizational abilities with attention to detail. • A good command of language and proficiency in both Swedish and English. Your Workplace You will work at the Center for Municipal Strategic Studies (CKS), which is part of the Department of Culture and Society (IKOS).
