About this role

Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering consists of three departments: Quality Technology, Industrial Engineering, and Construction Engineering and Built Environment. The department has over 100 employees and conducts research and education both at the Ångström Laboratory in Uppsala and at Campus Gotland. Industrial Engineering is a broad, interdisciplinary field spanning multiple sub-areas from organization and management, innovation and entrepreneurship, industrial and social marketing in technology and innovation-intensive activities to automation and optimization, machine design, production, and production systems. Job Duties Assist in developing various research projects, including drafting external research grant applications to increase knowledge about how socio-technical systems relate to sustainable societal development. This involves coordinating between researchers, writing project plans and applications, and supporting researchers in the writing process. The work also includes managing research report writing processes. Qualification Requirements The position requires: - Master's degree in sustainable development or a similar field. - Excellent English skills, both spoken and written. - Several years of experience working in academia, in research or teaching. - Experience with coordinating work within academia. - Extensive knowledge and understanding of sustainable development from environmental or social sustainability perspectives. Significant emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Consideration will be given to collaborative abilities, drive, independence, and how the applicant's experience and competence can complement and strengthen the department's research and contribute to its future development. Desirable/Meriting Qualifications: - Experience in public speaking. - Competence in qualitative research and understanding of quantitative research methods. - Experience collaborating in multicultural teams and interdisciplinary projects. - Ability to communicate scientific content to diverse target groups. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. About the Position Fixed-term employment for 6 months. 60% position. Start date: December 10, 2025.
