Welcome to the Academy of Library, Information, Pedagogy, and IT!
Your Responsibilities
The tasks consist solely of research within the project "Cultural Workers as Governmental Opinion Makers: The Information-by-proxy Strategy as a Cultural Policy Tool for Information Policy Goals, in Sweden, 1960–1990." The project's main research question is: How have Swedish government agencies that are not primarily associated with cultural policy and practitioners activated such policy and practitioners through the information-by-proxy strategy, with the intention to persuade and disseminate?
The research question will be answered through systematic archival studies from relevant authorities as well as the archives of the National Library of Sweden, and through an analysis of various media such as films, comic books, and plays from an interdisciplinary and historical perspective. The analysis will be based on cultural policy, information policy, and media historical research, including film historical research.
Your tasks will involve archival studies and analysis of various media that together address the overarching research question. Your responsibilities include presenting the results in formats such as conference contributions, scientific articles, or monographs, as well as within the Center for Cultural Policy Research at the department.
Your Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must have a completed doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence in cultural policy, information policy, film studies, or another relevant field for the project. You also need to have extensive knowledge in cultural, information, media, and film historical research and have published scientific articles relevant to the project. You should also have a proven ability to attract research funding such as VR funding and possess very good skills in both Swedish and English.
As the university has a focus on sustainable development, experience in research or teaching related to sustainable development is an asset.
