The operations encompass both patient-centered clinical research and experimental studies within cardiology. A central area of focus is heart failure, including the assessment and follow-up of patients with advanced heart failure, as well as research on heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. The research environment is highly translational, meaning that results from basic research are translated into clinical applications. Here, population studies, clinical trials, and experimental models at the cellular and animal levels are conducted. Read more on the university's website about being employed at Lund University: https://www.lu.se/om-universitetet/jobba-hos-oss. **Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility** We are seeking an individual to work with the following tasks: - Responsible for research and development in the field of heart failure and cardiomyopathies - Supervise doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers - Apply for research grants - Lecture and publish in the field - The individual is expected to work independently, and expertise in the mentioned area is crucial. **Qualifications** Requirements for the position include: - PhD in cardiology. - Associate professorship in cardiovascular research. - Familiarity with the translational research methods used at the unit, including omics studies, population studies, clinical studies, and experimental models at the animal and cellular levels. - Independence and attention to detail, as well as good planning skills. Meritorious for the position are: - Completion of medical education. - Research experience at the professor level. - Previous experience in high-level cardiology research. **Other** The position is a permanent employment with a workload of 20%.
