The Department of Civil Engineering and Industrial Technology consists of three divisions: Quality Technology, Industrial Technology, and Construction Technology and Built Environment. Industrial Technology is a broad, interdisciplinary field that spans several sub-areas from organization and management, innovation and entrepreneurship, to industrial and social marketing within technology- and innovation-intensive operations, covering automation and optimization to machine design, production, and production systems. Job Responsibilities
The role includes:
- Developing new knowledge about ethical drivers and perspectives on technology-driven societal development.
- Deepening ethical perspectives on goal conflicts that may arise in technology-driven societal development.
- Being responsible for and leading collaborations with interdisciplinary research groups.
- Being responsible for drafting research articles.
- Participating in application processes for research grants.
Qualifications
- PhD in philosophy, political science, anthropology, sociology, or another social science subject.
- Research experience in ethical aspects of technology-driven societal development.
- Excellent language skills in Swedish and English.
- Experience in writing applications and working in research projects.
- Experience in presenting research results.
- Experience working in an international research environment.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will be given to good collaboration skills, drive, and independence.
Desirable/meritorious
Experience in practical and strategic communication work with target groups both within and outside academia. For example, experience in writing popular science texts.
About the Position
The position is temporary, for 12 months. The scope is 50%. Start date is January 1, 2026, or as agreed. Location: Uppsala.
