Department of Ecology At the Department of Ecology, research and education are conducted in ecology focusing on the dynamics of populations, communities of organisms, and ecosystems, often with an emphasis on the ecology of agricultural and forest landscapes. Fundamental and applied questions regarding the ecological consequences of land use and biodiversity are often addressed together in both individual projects and larger collaborations. Learn more about our benefits and what it is like to work at SLU at https://www.slu.se/om-slu/jobba-pa-slu/ About the Job Conduct research in the project “Soil Preparation and Bioenergy Extraction: How are Carbon Stocks in Soil and Biomass Affected After 10 Years?” according to the project plan, as well as process, analyze, and compile research data from other long-term experiments involving stump harvesting, soil preparation, whole-tree extraction, and fertilization trials, and publish the results in scientific journals and other media. Your Background Applicants should hold a Docent position or equivalent in the field of plant ecology/soil ecology/system ecology. The appointment requires documented knowledge of and field experience with the relevant experiments on stump harvesting and soil preparation at Högalteknall, Jädraås, Rödålund, Mossaliden, Porrtjärn, and Holksjön, among others in the same series, whole-tree experiments at Granö, Granhult, Borrestad, T103, Kosta, and Lövliden, as well as fertilization trials at Flakaliden and Jädraås Ih2. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and are looking for someone who is responsible and carries out tasks with precision and efficiency. You should have good collaborative skills but also be able to work independently. The nature of the tasks requires that you can communicate well in both Swedish and English. Location: Department of Ecology, SLU, Ultuna campus in Uppsala. Employment Type: Fixed-term employment for 12 months, with a possible extension. Scope: 20%. Start Date: By agreement.
