About this role
Community Educator for Timrå
Swedish Church Medelpad's Northern Parish
About Medelpad's Northern Parish
Medelpad's Northern Parish was established at the turn of 2024/2025 and includes the parishes of Alnö, Indal, Holm, Liden, Sättna, Skön, Timrå, Hässjö, Ljustorp, and Tynderö.
Through collaboration, we aim to strengthen and support the long-term work in our parishes, ensuring that the church remains a present and vibrant force in people's daily lives.
The parish has a shared office that consolidates expertise in administration, finance, HR, communication, property management, and cemetery services. The office serves as support for the local parishes, which continue their vital work closely connected to the parishioners—in worship, diaconal work, and other activities.
Together, we are building an organization that creates conditions for a sustainable future, where tradition and renewal go hand in hand.
About the Position
As a Community Educator in Timrå, you will, along with your team, be an essential part of the work with children and youth in our two churches and parish homes. Here, there is both a lively program for children, youth, and confirmation classes, as well as a well-developed teaching initiative.
You will play a key role in inspiring, supporting, and creating opportunities for participation in the life of the parish—in worship services, groups, and various meeting places. In close collaboration with priests, deacons, musicians, and colleagues in educational work, you will shape an environment where community, faith, and care can flourish.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and follow up on activities for children and youth.
- Participate in worship services and other gatherings with a focus on participation and learning.
- Create safe and inclusive environments where children and young people feel seen and welcomed.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the parish and the parish office to develop educational work.
- Build contacts and collaborations with schools, leisure activities, and other local stakeholders in the Timrå area.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Is a community educator or has other educational qualifications or equivalent experience, preferably related to church or parish life.
- Is self-assured and capable of building trusting relationships.
- Can work both independently and collaboratively—with structure, creativity, and flexibility.
- Has the courage to try new things and a desire to develop activities together with colleagues.
- Has an interest in worship life, music, and issues related to faith, life, and community.
We Offer
- A meaningful position where you can contribute to shaping the future of parish life.
- Support from experienced and dedicated colleagues in a parish with a big heart.
- A location in Timrå—close to both the sea, forest, and an active local community.
- A permanent full-time position, starting according to agreement.
