The Ambulance Service Area (VO), which belongs to Medical Service, is responsible for ambulance operations in northwest and southwest Skåne, with ambulance stations in thirteen locations. Ambulance Healthcare in Region Skåne has developed into a regionally equivalent operation, with collaboration across previous county borders, borderless dispatch, common treatment guidelines, and joint skills development. The service area encompasses approximately 390 employees.
VO Ambulance is responsible for conducting ambulance healthcare across western Skåne from Trelleborg in the south to Båstad in the north, including Ven. Our larger ambulance stations are located in southwest Malmö, Landskrona/Helsingborg, and Ängelholm in the northwest.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
VO Ambulance is seeking a Vehicle Responsible Service Technician positioned in the southwest district. This is a full-time position with working hours Monday to Friday. You will be one of two vehicle technicians working on our vehicles/ambulances and associated equipment. You will be part of our Service Team where collaboration is crucial and we help each other with various tasks. We have an open and inclusive environment where everyone is equally valued. In total, we have four technicians, six administrators, and two unit managers in our service team.
In this role, you will have ongoing responsibility for operational issues related to ambulances/service vehicles. You will ensure the operation has the number of vehicles required for the assignment, working closely with our management support/unit managers. Responsibilities include booking service/repairs, maintaining contact with our insurance company for damage reports, and scheduling annual inspections. Together with our administrators in the northwest, you will coordinate the logistics of moving ambulances to and from stations/service locations, etc. We currently have over 50 vehicles at our disposal, ranging from service cars (passenger vehicles) to light trucks (ambulances), with a C-class driver's license being a requirement for all ambulances.
QUALIFICATIONS
A valid driver's license at least C1 level or a B-class license obtained before July 1996 is required.
It is advantageous if you are a trained vehicle technician or equivalent, preferably with broad experience in vehicle-related problem-solving, from electrical issues to minor repair work. Experience with the current RAKEL radio system is also considered a plus. Since we work with multiple support systems, good and broad computer skills are beneficial.
The ideal candidate is highly responsible and has both the ability and interest in becoming self-sufficient in addressing issues and problems related to our vehicles. You are accustomed to a high-paced environment and can easily prioritize and adapt to changing situations. As a person, you are attentive and able to interact with colleagues across all parts of the organization. Furthermore, you have an open mind and a sense of the organization's core mission.
