SKB is looking for a dedicated and reliable Vehicle Mechanic/Transport Technician.
**Where You Will Work**
The Operations and Maintenance Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of SKB's nuclear facilities Clab and SFR, as well as the transport system. The department has approximately 130 employees spread across three locations: Oskarshamn, Östhammar, and Solna. At Clab, located about 30 kilometers north of Oskarshamn, we receive and temporarily store used nuclear fuel and core components from Sweden's nuclear power plants while waiting for the final repository to be constructed and put into operation. At SFR, located in Forsmark, we receive both operational and decommissioning waste from the nuclear power plants, and the facility is currently being expanded.
**What You Will Do**
To better prepare for the future, we are now expanding the transport team at Clab with an additional Vehicle Mechanic/Transport Technician.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing service, maintenance, and troubleshooting on all terminal vehicles in SKB's transport system as well as other vehicles at Clab.
- Operating terminal vehicles for land transport of used nuclear fuel and radioactive waste.
- Acting as transport leader.
- Conducting freight transport within the area.
- Working at Simpevarp harbor with the reception and dispatch of SKB's vessel m/s Sigrid, as well as during loading and unloading.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for a vehicle mechanic with knowledge of hydraulics for our heavy vehicles. A C driver's license, wheel loader certification, and forklift and overhead crane licenses are advantageous.
You are a solution-oriented and proactive individual who takes initiative and drives your tasks forward with a focus on results. The work involves close collaboration with other groups within the organization and with external suppliers, so we believe you are communicative and have good teamwork skills. We also see that you are curious about new work areas and therefore flexible.
