The Ground Workshop performs maintenance on the Armed Forces' ground equipment, air base equipment, and provides technical system support. This includes maintenance in the form of inspections, repairs, manufacturing, disassembly/scrapping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptations, and material investigations. The Ground Workshop unit delivers services according to customer requirements. Ground Workshop Uppland is a department within the Ground Workshop Unit (MvE), which currently belongs to the Armed Forces Technical School. From January 1, 2026, MvE will be integrated into the Army Staff. You will be part of Enköping, a section of Ground Workshop Uppland that operates in Uppsala and Enköping. Check out these links: https://youtu.be/jDWtiZdUfSk https://youtu.be/J8vXQ_XgNiI Main Responsibilities You will primarily work with maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of vehicles, machines, and equipment used within the Armed Forces, such as wheeled vehicles, wheel loaders, trucks, tracked vehicles, masts, containers, and generators. The work involves both preventive and corrective maintenance as well as modifications and renovations based on established guidelines. Requirements • We are looking for someone who has completed a two- or three-year upper secondary education with a focus on vehicle technology or equivalent, or skills acquired through professional experience deemed equivalent by the employer. • Relevant previous experience working as a mechanic. • Computer proficiency; we work with digital platforms. • Good knowledge of technology and troubleshooting. • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. • A valid B driver's license. Meritorious • Previous experience working with vehicle electronics and hydraulics in similar fields. • Experience in mechanical work. • Refrigeration certification. • Experience and knowledge of masts, generators, and vehicle electronics. • C or CE driver's license. • Forklift/wheel loader training. • Travel training. • Experience and knowledge of workshop operations and material maintenance in the Armed Forces. Other Employment type: permanent position starting with a 6-month probationary period. Employment level: full-time, daytime - shift work may be applied. The position is a civilian role. Work involving thermosetting plastics occurs at the ground workshop and requires health checks.
