The Ground Workshop unit belongs to the FMTS organization. We primarily perform maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' ground equipment, but also for the air force and navy, and provide technical system support. This includes maintenance in the form of inspections, renovations, repairs, manufacturing, disassembly, modifications, and repair technical analyses.
Ground Workshop Berga is part of Ground Workshop Stockholm, which is a department with three workshops and approximately 80 employees.

Job Responsibilities
As a mechanic with us, you will primarily work with various types of wheeled vehicles, from passenger cars to trucks and other technical equipment. You will be involved in troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and modification of material systems.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- You have at least a two- or three-year upper secondary education in vehicle technology, industry, or other education/competence acquired through professional experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
- You have relevant experience in a similar field.
- General computer skills.
- A valid driver's license (B category).

Meritorious
- The Armed Forces' mechanic training on any vehicle system is desirable, alternatively system technician training.
- Experience working with the Armed Forces' material and vehicles.
- Forklift certification.
- Electrical training/electric understanding.
Other
Employment Type: Permanent position starting with a six-month probationary period.
Working Hours: Full-time, daytime.
Work Location: Berga, Haninge Garrison.
Start Date: As soon as possible upon agreement.
Please note that the position is physically demanding and involves heavy lifting regularly.
The job also entails travel requirements both domestically and internationally. This position is a civilian role.

The Armed Forces Technical School (FMTS), based in Halmstad, is a logistics unit where technology takes center stage. The operation of the unit rests on four pillars – development, education, workshop, and wartime unit production. To enable the Armed Forces to operate, they need functioning equipment, and FMTS plays a crucial role in this.
FMTS has a functional responsibility for the technical service within the Armed Forces, which includes monitoring technological developments to anticipate future needs, as well as proposing changes and improvements.
