Welcome to Transport Service, Uppsala Municipality's internal logistics center for internal mail and various types of goods. The unit consists of approximately 30 employees and is located in Boländerna, where we receive goods ordered by municipal operations, which are then sorted and delivered using our fossil fuel-free vehicles, currently consisting of heavy and light trucks as well as vans.
The work is scheduled according to a rolling timetable, with weekday hours approximately from 6:30 AM to 5:15 PM and weekend work from about 10 AM to 5 PM (weekend work occurs every other or every third weekend depending on the schedule).
Job Description
The role involves distributing goods to municipal operations using light or heavy trucks, working in the warehouse, and picking up and delivering internal mail. You will also be responsible for keeping the vehicle clean and in good condition. You will load and unload independently and are responsible for planning and prioritizing your day based on the volume of goods and the time constraints of the assignment. The work is supported by a mobile system.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Loading and unloading pallets, packages, and carts
• Picking up and delivering internal mail
• Loading and unloading aids
• Sorting incoming goods
• Packing incoming orders in the warehouse
• Performing vehicle maintenance.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a high school education and experience in the distribution of various types of goods. The job requires a B driver's license for manual transmission, a C license, a driver card, and professional driver competence (YKB). You should also have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
We prefer candidates who have a forklift license, training in hazardous goods (ADR 1.3), and good geographical knowledge of Uppsala. Experience working with mobile phones or handheld computers as tools and familiarity with driving light or heavy trucks with tail lifts is an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and other relevant systems is considered a merit.
