**About the Job**
As a Financial Risk Officer, you will play a central role in developing and strengthening risk management within Sida's guarantee operations. You will work practically to review and assess financial and commercial risks in guarantee transactions, support colleagues in risk assessments, and ensure that transactions are correctly structured according to applicable regulations. You will monitor and analyze Sida's overall risk exposure and contribute to quality assurance of documentation and processes within the risk area. The role also involves further developing the risk function's methods and approaches, as well as driving improvements that enhance the risk perspective across the entire guarantee operation.
Working with guarantees in international development cooperation involves extensive contacts and collaboration with other aid organizations, development banks, international banks, local banks in partner countries, businesses, philanthropists, consultants, authorities, and both governmental and non-governmental organizations, both in Sweden and internationally.
The position is based in the unit for guarantee monitoring and analysis, which is responsible for Sida's guarantee portfolio, but close collaboration also occurs with transaction managers in the unit for guarantee broadening and the unit for development analysis and financing.
Travel is expected in this role.
You will work at our office in Rissne, Sundbyberg.
**Responsibilities**
- Further develop the risk function and strengthen Sida's capacity in risk management with colleagues involved in the transaction process and the follow-up of the active guarantee portfolio.
- Ensure that the preparation and follow-up of guarantees concerning risk are conducted in accordance with imposed regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in communicating to the broader Sida organization about how Sida actively implements and works with risk.
- Support transaction teams in the financial structuring of guarantees.
- Assist transaction teams in assessing the financial position and capacity of potential guarantee recipients to carry out the activities that Sida supports. This includes the recipient's systems, policies, and procedures for sound lending.
- Assist in evaluating the appropriateness and reasonableness of guarantee contributions in relation to expected outcomes and financial risks.
- Help colleagues continuously monitor and analyze Sida's residual risk in the portfolio and ensure that documentation for assessing outstanding claims, commitments, and risk of loss in guarantee operations complies with applicable regulations and accounting principles.
- Be responsible for quality assurance of the unit's work with accounting and analysis of residual risk in financial statements.

**Qualifications**
**Education**
- Academic degree in economics with a focus on finance, or other education deemed relevant by the employer.
**Language**
- Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
**Work Experience and Knowledge**
- Extensive and solid experience in qualified work with financial structures and risk assessment within the risk function in the private banking and finance sector, the Export Credit Agency, the National Debt Office, the Financial Supervisory Authority, or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of the regulations for accounting Swedish state guarantees or equivalent regulations from banking and insurance operations.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex issues in an accessible manner.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Knowledge of external accounting.

**For this role, it is advantageous if you have:**
- Experience in development cooperation.
- Experience working in a government agency.
- Experience working with multilateral organizations and/or development banks.
- Experience working with ESG issues.
- Knowledge of regulations, such as Basel regulations and IFRS.
- Language skills, preferably in French or Spanish.
**Good to Know**
The position is a permanent employment with immediate start. A probationary period applies.
