Are you technically interested and enjoy solving practical everyday problems? Are you passionate about creating a safe and well-functioning school environment? Then you could be our new Property Maintenance Technician at Kungsgård High School! Who are we? The Education Office's operations focus on children's and young people's development and learning. We view individuals from a 1-20 year perspective and base our approach on each child and youth's individual conditions and needs. Every child and student succeeds and gets a good start in developing lifelong learning. We achieve this together through successful teaching, high expectations of ourselves and each other, respectful relationships, and a safe work environment. At Kungsgård High School, we shape the future workforce and stimulate approximately 650 students to develop creativity and entrepreneurship. The school is managed by three school leaders and about 80 employees across three different buildings. Your Responsibilities We are seeking someone who wants to be an important part of our school community and help create a safe, functional, and pleasant environment for both students and staff. As our Property Maintenance Technician, you'll have a varied and independent job where you'll use both your practical skills and service-oriented approach daily. The work involves close contact with school personnel, students, and external actors. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and performing minor repairs on the school's facilities and technical systems, such as heating, ventilation, electricity, and plumbing. You'll troubleshoot and address minor issues, replace light bulbs, repair doors and windows, and ensure our equipment functions correctly. When your expertise is insufficient, you'll contact external help. An important part of the work also involves ensuring our teaching kitchens run smoothly – for example, by troubleshooting and maintaining refrigerators, freezers, and other kitchen equipment. You'll additionally be responsible for minor exterior maintenance of the school grounds, such as simple snow removal at school stairs, gravel spreading, and ensuring exterior stairs remain free of debris. You'll also have fire safety responsibility in our buildings, including managing building evacuations. Who are you? We're seeking someone with vocational training as a Property Maintenance Technician or who has completed the Plumbing and Property Management program with a property focus. You have several years of experience with similar tasks. Furthermore, you have technical understanding of systems like ventilation and heating, and can perform basic plumbing work and property repairs. As a person, you're service-oriented, social, and enjoy solving problems and taking initiative. You're meticulous, responsible, and can handle tasks independently while being collaborative and capable of teamwork. You adapt easily to new situations and working methods and can adjust based on changing circumstances. A Class B driver's license and strong Swedish language skills, both verbal and written, are required. You should also be computer-proficient to handle maintenance reports and other communication with workplace personnel.
