Property Caretaker at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) – Stockholm
We are seeking a property caretaker to work in Stockholm. Parts of the property are heritage-listed and have been owned by IVA since 1919.
IVA has been a meeting place for Sweden's future for over 100 years. IVA brings together expertise and experience from approximately 1,300 academy members and 250 companies. Together, IVA builds bridges between academia, business, and politics, working to enhance human capacity to contribute positively to society through technical and economic science. IVA's office is located in a historic building on Grev Turegatan.
Key Responsibilities:
• Practical work in both commercial spaces and residential units (35 rental apartments)
• Coordination with craftsmen, suppliers, and tenants
• Equipment fault reporting and basic machine/equipment servicing
• Repairs within the property including lighting, locks, doors, etc.
• Monitoring of technical installations and service coordination (ventilation systems, cooling units, laundry facilities, etc.)
• Supervision, cleaning, and maintenance of yards/gardens. Snow removal and de-icing as needed
• Potential heavy lifting, work in confined spaces, and at heights
• Furniture and interior relocation
• Handling mail, goods transportation, and consumable materials
• Systematic fire safety work and management of keys/access cards
Tasks are varied and depend on ongoing projects and needs. As a property caretaker, you are expected to perform tasks important and relevant to the organization's requirements.
Qualifications:
• Several years of experience in similar roles
• Experience with digital property management systems
• Organized, meticulous, flexible, and humble
• Strong collaborative skills and ability to work independently
• Handy and safety-conscious
This is a hire-to-buy arrangement. You will initially be employed by Prowork as a consultant before becoming an IVA employee.
