About this role

Bufff Stockholm is a children's rights organization that has been supporting children and young people with an incarcerated family member – such as a parent, sibling, or other close relative – since 2001. We work to provide children with security, community, and hope, and to reduce feelings of guilt, shame, and exclusion. Our work is based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and we offer support to children, youth, and their caregivers. About the Role As a Family Support Worker at Bufff, you will become part of a dedicated team working to strengthen children, youth, and families in challenging life situations. The work is varied and includes: • Providing supportive interventions to children, youth, and adults through individual support conversations, family discussions, and group sessions. • Planning and implementing activities that strengthen community and well-being, both in Bufff's facilities and during outings, holiday activities, or camps. • Outreach work at Correctional Service units, conducting child-centered conversations with incarcerated parents or siblings. • Staffing support phone lines and chat services, and collaborating with colleagues across different program areas. • Collaborating with other stakeholders, such as social services, police, correctional services, addiction care, psychiatry, and schools. Evening and weekend work is required. In some cases, personal vehicle use and occasional overnight stays are necessary. About You We are seeking someone who is confident, committed, and relationship-oriented, with a strong desire to make a difference. You thrive in interactions with vulnerable individuals and have the ability to inspire hope, create trust, and recognize each person's strengths. You are independent, responsible, and structured in your work – but also a team player who contributes to a warm and trustful team. You have excellent collaboration skills and the ability to connect with both children and adults. We prefer candidates with: • Post-secondary education in social work, behavioral science, pedagogy, or related fields. • Experience in counseling children, youth, and/or families in difficult life situations. • Knowledge of conversation methodology, trauma, or children in risk environments (advantageous). • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Swedish (other languages are advantageous). Experience of having had an incarcerated family member during childhood is considered a valuable merit but not required. The position is full-time and permanent with a 6-month probationary period. We Offer • Meaningful work where you can make a real difference. • A close and supportive work team with high engagement. • Opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing organization with a strong children's rights profile.
