The Foster Care Unit is part of the Children and Youth division within the Social Services in Järfälla. We are a group of committed foster care secretaries and child case workers, many with over 15 years of experience in social work with children and youth. From our different roles, we work side by side on everything related to foster children and youth, contact activities, and unaccompanied minors. We are a well-functioning team with a pleasant and supportive work environment. We have close collaboration with our colleagues in the division and have access to extensive internal open care services.
Currently, we are engaged in an exciting development project with our internal open care services. The goal is to increase the conditions for sustainable placements by providing expanded support to our foster families and children. This support includes interaction treatment when a child is first placed in a new foster home, as well as crisis support when needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We work with clearly defined roles as foster care secretaries. You will primarily be responsible for guiding existing foster families and investigating potential foster families in collaboration with a recruiting foster care secretary. You will closely collaborate with fellow foster care secretaries, child case workers, and social workers from other units, with direct management from your group leader.
Our placement coordinator is also part of the unit, handling all tasks related to searching and procuring external providers. The placement coordinator is our expert in quickly finding emergency foster homes and knows everything about our framework agreements.
The case management and documentation system is LifeCare, and all case management is conducted using BBiC methodology. We use the "A Lasting Relationship" investigation method in all foster care assessments.
QUALIFICATIONS

Formally, we require a social work degree and preferably several years of experience in social services' children and/or youth sectors. Previous experience as a foster care secretary or child case worker in foster care is meritorious. A driver's license is mandatory.
Experience with "A Lasting Relationship", Signs of Safety, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) methods is considered a strength.
You communicate easily verbally and in writing and can adapt your communication as situations demand. You are structured, stable, and able to understand others' perspectives without absorbing their emotions. You value collaboration, understand the authority role, and are initiative-taking and engaged in your work.
