Foster Parents Wanted WE ARE PRIMARILY LOOKING FOR FOSTER PARENTS IN THE BORÅS, MARK, HERRLJUNGA, AND ULRICEHAMN AREAS. Information about the assignment As a foster home, you will care for a child or young person in your home with support from social services and guidance from a foster care consultant. The children range in age from 0 to 19 years. Your role is to be a secure, stable adult with the main responsibility of supporting and integrating the child into your family and the community. It is important that your family has a stable economy and a separate room for the child/young person. As a foster home, you will look after a child or young person in your home who requires extra support and care. The child/young person often comes from difficult circumstances. Personal suitability is of utmost importance, and experience in similar roles is advantageous but not a necessity. We offer ongoing guidance and support to families and are always available around the clock, with a personal foster care consultant assigned to each family. Foster parents will receive compensation for the assignment equivalent to an average part-time salary. Assessment To work as a foster home, your family will undergo an assessment conducted by trained consultants. This includes in-depth interviews, home visits, and background checks from criminal and suspicion registers, as well as social registers with the Enforcement Authority and the Transport Agency. After a successful assessment, a matching assessment will also be conducted to determine if the placed child/teenager is a good fit for your family. Our thorough assessment is conducted both for your benefit and for the well-being of the placed child/young person. Our mission is to do everything we can to ensure that a child/young person receives a proper foster home where they can feel safe, develop, and grow as individuals. Unfortunately, research has shown that many placed children and young people have struggled in their foster homes over the years; we certainly want to avoid this and ensure that the individuals we place are well cared for in their foster homes. An assessment is also important for your family; by getting to know you during the assessment process, we can make a good match with a child/young person who fits well with you. We aim to provide you as a foster home with favorable conditions for the assignment. More about our company YogaKloster is a retreat facility in the countryside just outside Borås. We have a strong community commitment, and part of our work, in addition to the retreat facility, is to assess and guide adults who host children and young people as foster homes. We refer to this aspect of our operation as YK Foster Homes. For several years, YK Foster Homes has been working to guide and support families in fostering assignments. Our mission is to seek, assess, and then guide foster parents who welcome children and young people in crisis. The work in the foster homes is conducted as a social pedagogical effort in close collaboration between social services, the foster home, and YK Foster Homes. The fundamental idea behind the assignment with the placed child/young person is based on the belief that individuals develop in interaction with other people, environmental factors, and various professional disciplines. By creating a secure base with a well-assessed foster home in accordance with the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines, YK Foster Homes offers a pathway for the young person towards an increased ability to live independently. YK Foster Homes focuses on providing sustainable, safe, and stable foster homes that open their doors with great compassion to needy children and young people. YogaKloster AB has a license from IVO (the Health and Social Care Inspectorate) to operate foster home activities.
