Trygga Familjehem i Sverige AB is currently seeking families or single individuals who want to help children and young people aged 0-20 years. We are looking for both foster homes and emergency homes.
Being an emergency home or foster home is interesting, challenging, and above all, rewarding! It involves opening the doors to your home, your family, your daily life, and offering safety, guidelines, rules, and, most importantly, a lot of joy and heart, along with a desire to share your life.
This naturally presents a significant challenge and requires a clear ambition to succeed. This ambition must be shared by all family members, and a mutual understanding of what the assignment entails is crucial. It is important to note that everyone is affected when a new individual moves in and becomes part of the family. Please note that a single person can also be an emergency or foster home.
The most important thing is that you have a genuine interest in helping a child or young person achieve a better life. You must also be able to collaborate with all parties involved with the placed child or young person, such as schools, social workers, and foster home consultants.
To successfully manage a placement, you need to have a little extra of everything: space, time, and ability! Our requirements for you to begin a foster home assessment include, among others:
• You must not have any entries in the police's crime and suspicion register, the Social Insurance Agency's register regarding long-term illness, the Enforcement Authority's register, and the social register in the last five years.
• There must be a spare bedroom available for the placed child, without any family member having to give up their own bedroom. Please note that shared spaces do not count as bedrooms.
• Your residence must be permanent, meaning you do not rent in a sublet, are not a lodger, or similar. The accommodation must be fully furnished and cozy.
• You must be fully healthy and capable of working.
• You must have a stable income and means of support.
• At least one of you must have time for meetings with social services and us, the foster home consultants.
• You must not have any major upcoming life changes, such as moving, long trips, new studies, pregnancy, or similar.
• You must be proficient in the Swedish language.
Trygga Familjehem supports, guides, and educates
As a foster home, you will receive the basic training for foster homes from Trygga Familjehem. The purpose is to make the placement as good as possible for both the placed individual and the foster home. Our consultants are always available for ongoing guidance and education for the family throughout the placement. Your foster home consultant will visit you regularly, and you will have close collaboration on everything concerning the placed individual, such as implementation plans and contacts with authorities. You will have 24/7 support by phone for any questions you may have. The working and relational approach of Trygga Familjehem is to be accessible, provide support, assistance, ideas, and motivation!
Good financial compensation
Opening your home to a child, young person, or young adult is not about money but about helping someone who needs a safe and stable environment. However, you should still receive solid compensation for the work you do.
The compensation is paid in two parts: a cost reimbursement starting from 5,500 SEK/month to cover food, clothing, travel, etc., and a fee for the work you perform. The fee varies from 22,000 SEK/month and upwards, depending on the complexity of the placement.
