Villekulla Foster Care is now seeking multiple families in Västra Götaland who want to open their home to a child or youth. Being a foster family is not an employment form, but an assignment where the family receives compensation in the form of a fee and expense compensation. SKR provides recommendations for these compensations. Who are we looking for? We are seeking families consisting of two adults who want to contribute engagement, time, and patience to help a child or youth who needs to live in an alternative family context for a shorter or longer period. We seek families with stable living conditions. You can live centrally or rurally. Animals may be okay depending on allergies. You can have your own children living at home who are not too young. It is a great advantage if your own children at home are a maximum of two. We are also looking for families who can consider not taking in more than two foster children. We seek families with a predictable daily life where life "continues as usual" as it does for most, with the difference that a foster family needs to have an extraordinary ability and abundance of love and patience, and be able to include someone else's child in their life and remain steadfast during challenging times. There is no requirement for a permanent employment, but your daily economy should not depend on the foster care assignment. The working hours in the family need to match so that there is always an adult at home in the afternoon and evening. It is a great advantage if one adult has the possibility to be home full-time for an extended period, but it is not a requirement. The first two weeks of an assignment require one adult to be home full-time. You need to be proficient in the Swedish language both verbally and in writing, as we conduct investigations and dialogue only in this language. Since we work with children's needs, it is important to avoid misunderstandings. It is otherwise an advantage and a fine merit if the family speaks multiple languages. Who is Villekulla? We offer our families, especially those new to assignments, comprehensive support. You will receive training and guidance through us, and our supervisor is specially trained for foster care. Our operation requires permission from IVO. We can provide references from our partners, including existing foster families and placing municipalities.
