We are looking for foster homes!
Lysekil Municipality is now seeking engaged and secure families who, on behalf of the social services, want to make a meaningful contribution for children and youth in need of placement outside their homes in a loving and stable environment.
What does it mean to be a foster home?
As a foster home, you provide one or more children or youth with a safe home environment. Your role is to create a secure and stable atmosphere where the child/children can feel safe and cared for. Being a foster home requires flexibility, empathy, and a strong desire to help children in vulnerable situations. You will be an important part of a process where the child's needs are prioritized. As a contracted foster home, you will receive compensation and reimbursement for expenses.
Activities and support for our foster homes
We value participation and ongoing education, and we appreciate close dialogue and collaboration regarding the children, which is why we prefer our own contracted foster homes rather than consultant-supported ones. Over the past year, we have developed our foster home work and now organize meetings for our foster homes at Nordens Ark and Liseberg, as well as regular lectures. We offer activities and guidance tailored to your needs and preferences.
Who can become a foster home?
- You should have a secure and stable family situation.
- Previous experience with children, such as having your own children or working in childcare, is advantageous but not a requirement.
- You need to have space both in your home and in your heart to welcome a child in need of support.
- You are willing to collaborate with social services and other involved parties. You have the ability to be at home full-time.
- We are currently seeking foster homes in Lysekil or neighboring municipalities to facilitate collaboration and enable quick intervention when needed.
What do we offer?
- A meaningful assignment where you can make a difference for a child or youth.
- Compensation and support in the form of guidance, training, and respite.
- Regular and personal contact with our foster home social workers to ensure the family's well-being.
- Our municipality is small, allowing for close contact with our foster home and child social workers, which enables quick and smooth collaboration during placements.
- Compensation and reimbursement for expenses.
We look forward to hearing from you and welcome all family constellations to apply!
