We are now looking for two family counselors for temporary positions who want to work with support for children, youth, and their parents. Start date: Immediately or as agreed, and the position will last until the regular employee returns to work, which is planned for October 31, 2026, and February 28, 2027. Your new job As a family counselor, you primarily work with parents who seek support themselves. You provide parenting support in individual sessions and, if you have the right qualifications, also in group settings through parenting groups or support groups for children. Part of the job also involves contributing to development initiatives related to the new social services act. Collaboration with other stakeholders such as preschools, schools, child health services, child and adolescent psychiatry, the region, and civil society is an important part of the assignment and something we aim to strengthen further in the future. The position is during daytime hours with some evening work. Common tasks • Conduct individual sessions with parents and other important adults in children's lives. • Lead support or parenting groups (if qualified). • Meet residents in various settings, such as open preschools. • Staff telephone hours and contact those who reach out to us. • Administer and coordinate group activities. • Contribute to developing the service towards even more accessible parenting support. Your qualifications Requirements • Degree in social work, education, or another higher education qualification deemed equivalent. • Experience working with parenting or child support initiatives. • Good computer skills and experience with documentation. • Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. • A criminal record check is required upon employment. Meritorious • Training or experience in parenting support, such as group leader training, ICDP/Guiding Interactions, or Signs of Safety. • Experience working in settings close to residents, such as open preschools or schools. • Experience collaborating with preschools, schools, and child health services. • Experience in digital development and accessibility adaptation of support forms. • Experience working on projects. We are looking for you You have a strong child perspective, good empathetic skills, and are an active listener who is confident in yourself. You find it easy to collaborate with others but are also self-driven and take responsibility for moving your work forward. You thrive in an environment where development and co-creation are important goals, and where you can use your holistic view to see connections and make thoughtful assessments. Working preventively and promotively inspires you, especially in a context shaped by the new social services act. You are creative and contribute new ideas and solutions, while also being structured, able to prioritize your work, and flexible when situations change. You have an interest in digital working methods and a willingness to learn new things. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
