About this role

Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm. The Skarpnäck District Administration offers you a workplace where active employee participation and clear leadership are the foundation for providing the best services to the people of Stockholm. As we collectively create our work environment, openness, respect, and responsiveness are essential. Welcome to us The area of Children and Family is divided into four units: Family Support, Family Care and Placements, Child and Family Investigations, and Youth, Family, and Disability Reception and Investigations. We work family-oriented, which means that the entire family system should receive a consolidated and coordinated needs assessment where all involved units collaborate and work together based on what is best for the family. Within the Family Support unit, seven family therapists work towards authority exercise, three family therapists/SST, one case manager, and two family therapists/coordinators SIG, as well as an ongoing LUM project, Family-Oriented Housing Support. We also have a mentor who assists in various contexts, such as case presentations. We are a unit with a high level of job satisfaction, low staff turnover, and a strong focus on development. Since the unit consists of several teams and working methods, we are generous with collegial learning. For us, it is important to offer high-quality services to children, youth, and their families while always striving to improve what we do. We offer As a family therapist with us, you will be part of a unit with a high level of job satisfaction, low staff turnover, and generous collegial learning. The unit consists of several teams and working methods, and we believe it is important to provide high-quality services to children, youth, and their families while maintaining a strong focus on development and continuously striving to improve our work. You will have the opportunity for vacation exchange, flexible working hours, and wellness benefits – and beautiful Nacka Nature Reserve right around the corner. Your role As a family therapist in the school social team in Skarpnäck, you will be one of three therapists assigned to all municipal schools in the district. The target group is students in middle and high school, the intervention is voluntary, and the purpose and goals of the assignments are to improve students' attendance and achievement in school as well as to strengthen their mental health and relationships within the family. The design and setup are done in collaboration with the student, parents, and school and are adapted individually with a clear plan that is followed up regularly. As part of the school social team, it is crucial that you can work proactively, transparently, independently, and flexibly. At the same time, the position requires a high level of collaboration skills as it involves many contacts simultaneously while maintaining smooth and effective cooperation between the school, home, and social services. Another important aspect is to conduct motivating, social change work with individual students and their families, highlighting their perspectives and needs when necessary. Through your engagement and responsiveness, you build trust and relationships with various parties through individual discussions or in groups. To find sustainable solutions in the long term, we often collaborate with other actors in the student's network. Since we occasionally hold lectures and parent groups, you need to be comfortable with that. As we are facing a new social services law and operational changes, you need to be someone who sees opportunities and development in this. Your qualifications and experience For this position, we are looking for someone who has: A degree in social work or another higher education that the employer deems equivalent. Good knowledge of the work of social services and the school environment. Experience working with change processes in families and knowledge of children and youth with neuropsychiatric diagnoses. Experience working in an SST team or with SST plus. It is advantageous if you have: Basic psychotherapy training, step 1. Knowledge of LGBTQI issues. Other To work in the City of Stockholm with children and youth, you must provide a criminal record extract before employment. You can order this yourself at polisen.se or via this link. Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. The application deadline is July 13, 2025. We warmly welcome your application! The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's qualifications and thus combating discrimination.
