At Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people at all stages of life. We make each other better.
Counseling and Support Team
The Family Support Unit is a department within individual and family care, consisting of three work groups led by coordinators and unit managers.
We are responsible for delivering authorized support interventions for children and youth aged 0-21 and their parents, as well as service interventions such as counseling and support conversations and group activities for the same target group.
We are a team of committed employees who support each other when the job is challenging. We work according to the Signs of Safety approach, which means we work to ensure that children, families, and adults are involved in problem-solving. We work closely with the families we meet to jointly find common solutions and opportunities, with the child's best interests at the center.
We are now seeking someone who wants to work as a family counselor in our counseling and support team, which works with open service interventions. We offer a pleasant and developing work environment, external supervision, flex time, wellness contributions, and a wellness hour. The coverage area is all of Gotland, with the workplace centrally located in Visby.
Your Responsibilities
We are looking for a family counselor for our counseling and support team working with service interventions, which involves various forms of counseling and support conversations and support groups for children and families. The family counselor's role is to provide support and treatment interventions based on the child's needs. The work consists of social change and motivational work directed at families, using knowledge-based treatment methods as tools.
The Family Support Unit works with family counseling from a systemic and solution-focused approach. We are in an exciting development phase for our counseling and support team, which includes working to strengthen collaboration with other actors involved with children, youth, and families on Gotland.
Who Are You?
You are a trained social worker or have an equivalent education. Additional training in evidence-based treatment methods is meritorious.
Experience working with children and youth in social services is meritorious. Experience with counseling and treatment methods and support group activities targeting children, youth, and their parents is also beneficial.
We are seeking someone who is driven, self-confident, and can seek support in their work. You take a holistic perspective, are communicative, and can convey information effectively. You have good self-awareness and the ability to independently plan and drive treatment processes.
Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. It is important that you function well as part of a team and can also work independently. Collaborative ability and flexibility are crucial for this position.
