Now You Have the Chance to Be Part of Our Initiative to Develop Social Services Support for Our Children, Youth, and Families
Through support interventions, we strengthen the child's, youth's, and network's own resources to manage life without social services support. We develop interventions without means testing, meaning without decisions from social services, to create more flexible and individualized solutions.
At our resource units, we work with the target group 0-20 years and their families. These services are directed towards the 0-12 age group. The team includes family therapists, counselors, and team leaders. This means you will always have access to support in your work. You will join a large, competent, and committed team where collaboration is one of our key words. We are currently working to make our resource units have a more equivalent working method and shared direction. The units will continue to work with age-specific groups (children and youth) but have more cooperation with each other.
WORK TASKS
As a family therapist, you work motivationally and reinforcingly in the change process for children, youth, and parents. In the change work, you approach tasks practically and pedagogically. You lead conversations between family members and other important persons in the youth's network. You may meet families at the office, in their everyday environment, and at home. You also coordinate all interventions around the child, youth, and family. There is considerable documentation such as journaling, implementation plans, and assessments. We work from a systems theoretical approach where the child's or youth's needs are always at the center. The methods we use are proven and evidence-based. Our mission is to increase protective and health factors while reducing risk factors. The goal is to reduce the risk of the child or youth needing placement outside their home.
We work scheduled day, evening, and some Saturdays. Work hours can vary depending on needs, typically between 7:30 AM-7:00 PM. We have flexible work hours.
QUALIFICATIONS
You are educated as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or have other college education we deem equivalent. A B driver's license is also mandatory. You already have experience working with psychosocial change processes with children, youth, and families facing difficult and complex challenges. This might involve working with individuals with cognitive difficulties, mental health issues, normative behavioral challenges, or multicultural backgrounds. We use many conversation methods and family treatment interventions; experience with any of these is an advantage.
As a person, you are genuinely engaged, courageous, and positive. You have personal drive to guide change and possess patience understanding that change often takes time. Through good self-awareness and curiosity, you are open to personal development. You are flexible and comfortable working independently and in groups. From experience, you know that a key to success lies in creating shared understanding and maintaining good collaborations.
