About this role
The Exercise Department of the Defence Staff plans, conducts, evaluates, and follows up on the majority of the larger exercises in which the Armed Forces participate, both nationally and internationally. The Exercise Department supports the Chief of Exercises in developing central plans and guidelines for the joint exercise activities of the Armed Forces, as well as monitoring and directing the exercise activities carried out within the branches of the armed forces, combat forces, and military regions.
We are now seeking an administrator responsible for the Armed Forces' exercise support system for a fixed-term position from January 1 to May 31, 2026. You will work on the implementation of various support systems for the Armed Forces' exercise activities. You will be the primary contact person for the Armed Forces with suppliers of support systems for military strategic and operational exercises.
Main Responsibilities:
As an administrator for the exercise support system in the Exercise Department, you will:
• Coordinate the implementation, utilization, and continued development of the Armed Forces' exercise support system, primarily at the military strategic and operational levels
• Advise commanders regarding the development of the Armed Forces' exercise support system
• Serve as the primary contact person for the Armed Forces with suppliers of support systems for military strategic and operational exercises
• Train personnel at the Defence Staff and Operations Command, as well as at branch and combat force staffs, in the Armed Forces' exercise support system
• Participate in larger exercises.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
• Relevant experience in IT system development
• Current and relevant experience in staff and planning work
• Military officer training
• National and international experience concerning modeling and simulation systems
• Experience in the implementation of IT systems within the Armed Forces
• Experience working with military command support systems
• Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
• Valid driver's license for passenger cars

You are meticulous and unpretentious, which also means you are a team player with good collaboration skills. You should be able to handle uncertainties, changes, and high workloads during periods. You must have the ability to prioritize tasks and manage both routine work and situations requiring quick responses. You are independent, positive, and possess social skills. In the selection process, great emphasis will be placed on personal attributes, suitability, and achieved results in previous areas of work.
DESIRABLE
• Experience in international work within the modeling and simulation field, both within and outside the Armed Forces
• Training in and experience with security-protected procurement
• Training in and experience with the accreditation of the Armed Forces' IT systems
• Experience from working in branch staff, regional staff, regiment, wing, or combat unit staff, or HQ
• Project management training
• Experience from working in SWECCIS and/or IS UNDSÄK
