About this role

Job Responsibilities As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you are a key person in developing the pedagogical work of the preschool. You lead, guide, and support work teams in planning, implementing, and following up on teaching, with a focus on language-developing approaches, multilingualism, and intercultural perspectives. You create a shared understanding of teaching, guidance, and approach, and initiate collegial learning processes that strengthen learning and reflection across the entire staff group. You collaborate closely with the principal, special education teacher, and other support functions, as well as with colleagues within the preschool area, schools, libraries, and guardians to promote children's language development and transitions. The role involves driving systematic quality work, strengthening pedagogical documentation, translating theory into practice, and contributing to a culture of engagement and trust in a multicultural environment. You are also responsible for monitoring research and development in preschool, initiating and leading competence development, professional dialogues, and meeting places for collegial learning. Flexibility, innovation, and the ability to address changes in children's and staff groups are central to jointly developing a high-quality pedagogical operation. Qualifications We are seeking a qualified preschool teacher well-versed in the assignment to lead and be responsible for the teaching conducted. You can document at least five years of well-regarded work in preschool and have extensive experience in developing teaching through various learning methods and tools. You have good skills in selecting relevant learning tools for teaching based on the children's group needs. You have substantial experience working with children aged 1-6 and a deep understanding of children's development, learning, and needs at different ages. It is a requirement that you have extensive and broad experience working in multicultural preschools and have strong competence in creating inclusive learning environments where children's language, identity, and cultural background are seen as assets. You have a norm-creative approach and actively work to ensure each child can express themselves, be heard, and feel a sense of belonging. In your role as a preschool teacher, you have demonstrated an exceptional ability to guide colleagues and work groups. You thrive in the role of pedagogical supervisor and drive professional conversations that contribute to reflection, learning, and development. You have documented experience guiding staff groups in pedagogical matters and leading processes that strengthen teaching and create a shared understanding in work teams. You play a central role in driving, developing, and following up on language-developing approaches throughout the operation. You have deep knowledge of language's role in children's learning and can support colleagues in planning, implementing, and analyzing teaching from a language development perspective. You use scientific foundations and proven experience to support your guidance and contribute to raising the quality of pedagogical work. You have completed a supervision or leadership education at the university level beyond your preschool teacher training. It is a requirement that you have worked with and can guide work teams operating in trios, duos, and large work teams. As a person, you are driven, goal-oriented, curious, creative, and attentive. You are motivated by learning new things and developing. You actively monitor developments in your professional field and continuously reflect on how the operation can be improved. You have a good understanding of how individuals acquire knowledge and their different prerequisites. You adapt your communication style to the recipient, encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement, and show respect, care, and sensitivity in interactions with children, guardians, and colleagues. To succeed in the role, you must have in-depth knowledge of children's development and learning, and the ability to translate curriculum goals into practice. You need to be well-versed in language-developing approaches and able to guide colleagues in planning, implementing, and analyzing teaching from a language and knowledge development perspective. You should have good skills in selecting and using relevant learning tools based on the children's group needs and be able to analyze teaching as part of systematic quality work. Experience guiding work teams in pedagogical matters and issues concerning children in need of support is required. You need to have good communication skills, excellent Swedish language proficiency in speech and writing, and the ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships with colleagues, children, and guardians. Additionally, you must have experience working in trios, duos, and large work teams, as well as training in supervision or leadership at the university level.
