Workplace Description
The work group consists of autopsy technicians, physicians, and other teaching assistants.
Clinical autopsy activities are performed at the workplace, including determining the cause of death.

Job Responsibilities
As a teaching assistant, you will work on determining causes of death and examining diseases and other changes. Your tasks may vary, but you must be studying at the faculty where the work will be performed, and the tasks should provide insight into the academic world.
The senior teaching assistant is responsible for leading the teaching assistant group, organizing teaching autopsies, and planning the training of new teaching assistants.
This work involves demonstrating practically how an autopsy is performed for medical students in semester 4, from organ extraction to detailed dissection. Additionally, an evaluation of findings and a synthesis are required to draw appropriate conclusions about disease progression and causes of death.
After completing the teaching, the teaching assistant, in consultation with the responsible physician, will formulate a statement that comprehensibly and adequately describes the findings.
Materials must also be preserved for microscopic analysis - also in agreement with the responsible physician.
Working hours will be during daytime.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position:
- Currently studying actively in the medical program at the Faculty of Medicine in Lund
- Excellent Swedish and English language skills, both spoken and written
- Completed and passed the pathology course
- Good collaboration skills
- Good communication skills
Advantageous for the position:
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant
Additional Information
The position is time-limited to 20% for six months, with a desired start date of 1/1 2026, or by agreement.
The position must not negatively impact the teaching assistant's studies and cannot be combined with other employment. Regulations regarding educational employment as a teaching assistant are found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12.
The position is covered by the working hours agreement for teachers.
