Senior Social Worker for Children and Youth

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker who wants to support social workers in their daily tasks and contribute to secure public authority practices within child and youth services. Here, you will make a tangible difference through leadership, methodological support, and quality assurance. 👉 Your Mission • Work in the role of Senior Social Worker with responsibility for leadership and decision support. • Act as a process facilitator between teams and create structure in the unit's case flows. • Supervise social workers, lead case preparation, and provide methodological support. • Quality review work and contribute to the development of routines and working methods. • Collaborate closely with colleagues, managers, and both internal and external stakeholders. ✅ We are looking for someone who Must-have requirements • Holds a degree in social work as well as a degree equivalent to an ethnology degree. • At least 8 years of experience in public authority work within child and youth services. • At least 10 years of experience in leadership. • At least 7 years of experience in qualified investigative work related to interventions and placements. • Excellent knowledge of the New Social Services Act, LVU (Care of Young Persons Act), and Signs of Safety. • A valid driver's license, good computer skills, and excellent documentation ability. • Ability to work effectively, analytically, and communicatively in a clear and straightforward manner. • Can independently manage cases and follow legal practices. • Can read, write, and understand Swedish without difficulties. • Can provide a criminal record extract upon starting. Desirable • Experience in supervision or methodological support in previous roles. • Experience in monitoring care within child and youth services. 📍 Scope Full-time, 100%. The work is performed on-site five days a week at a municipality in Gävleborg County. Travel may occur. 📅 Assignment Period January 15, 2026 – August 31, 2026. The assignment may be shortened if regular recruitment is completed.
