About the Workplace
Almängen Preschool consists of eight departments, including one bicycle department with a focus on outdoor activities. The preschool is spread across two floors and features a large, inspiring studio where children can explore and create in many different ways.
The preschool is centrally located at Almtorget, with good bus connections and proximity to green areas, playgrounds, and sports facilities – perfect environments for outdoor play and learning.
Three chefs prepare all meals from scratch, and a significant part of our operations takes place outdoors, where children discover nature and stay active every day.
We value both development and reflection. In addition to five development days per academic year, we also have a pedagogical forum where staff can delve into various educational issues. Workplace meetings are held every six weeks during the day, and each week the team has reflection time together with our lead preschool teacher.
In our operations, we always start from the children's interests. Children are divided into smaller groups daily to meet each child's needs and create learning environments that inspire, challenge, and develop.

Job Responsibilities
As a preschool teacher with us, you'll work to create a safe, fun, and educational preschool. You'll lead and develop the pedagogical activities together with the rest of the team. You have a special responsibility for instruction and work with the curriculum as a basis, considering each child's knowledge, experiences, and specific conditions. All preschool teachers in Malmö City have scheduled time (5 hours/week) for reflection, documentation, and learning with colleagues.
In our pedagogical forums, we place great focus on the preschool of diversity, which is a language development project. Our development areas are children's participation and influence, as well as outdoor activities and movement. It's important for us to develop and change our learning environments in the departments, starting from the children's interests and needs.
We have a lead preschool teacher who drives a development process together with the work teams. Planning, reflection, and documentation are central tools for making our operations visible, evaluating, and developing them.
Qualifications
We're seeking someone with a preschool teacher certification. We want you to contribute with engagement, creativity, and a drive to develop the operations. You meet each child with respect and attentiveness. Of course, you have a professional approach and work to build good relationships with guardians and colleagues. You need to have good Swedish skills, both spoken and written.
We're looking for someone with experience leading work teams and who can take a clear and supportive role both in the children's group and with colleagues. We also want someone with an interest in developing and working with children's participation and influence. We consider it desirable that you have a language-promoting approach focusing on play and outdoor activities.
A preschool teacher certification is required for permanent employment, according to the Education Act.
