About this role
We are Varberg Municipality, the employer that sees the opportunities in you. Here, you can make a difference, both for others and for yourself. We are driven by the idea of simplifying people's everyday lives and realizing their dreams. We achieve this through knowledge, innovative courage, and a forward-thinking spirit. Welcome to contribute to our work towards our vision – to become the creative hub of the west coast.
With a well-developed and transparent community planning process, the City Planning Office plays a central role in shaping the future of Varberg. Our mission is to create sustainable living environments where the city's growth and the needs of its residents meet in the best possible way.
We work in modern activity-based offices in the newly renovated city hall alongside other community-building operations, providing excellent opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Around 90 employees work with us, distributed across five departments – building permits, planning, geographic information, quality and development, and the municipality's land surveying – all contributing to the development of Varberg for both today's and tomorrow's residents.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will primarily handle land surveying proceedings. The tasks also include providing property law advice and services both within the municipality and to the public.
The work is developing and varied. You will have the opportunity to take on different types of land surveying proceedings both within and outside detailed plans, including more complex cases, if your skills allow and the cases are deemed manageable within the scope of the temporary position. Tasks such as measurement and mapping work can be adapted based on needs and interests.
If you are currently working at a land surveying authority or another employer that has less to do due to the economic downturn, you now have the opportunity to contribute your experiences with us while also bringing back insights from us to your employer when the employment period ends.
You will be part of a workgroup with broad expertise striving for high quality and good service, and you will be part of a great team. The land surveying department currently has two assistant surveyors and 15 surveyors in service, one of whom is employed on a temporary basis. You will take significant personal responsibility and work alongside colleagues with various areas of expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have at least a three-year university degree with a focus on land surveying and property formation, are a lawyer with expertise in property law, or have equivalent qualifications assessed as comparable. Experience in handling proceedings is an advantage.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities, as the work involves many contacts with stakeholders, the public, and colleagues. We want you to be independent, results-oriented, and enjoy varied tasks, with an ability to build trust and good relationships.
The tasks require the ability to manage a work process and make decisions. As a person, you are self-assured, meticulous, and analytical. You should be collaborative and willing to share your knowledge. You are focused on the assignment, enjoy outward-facing work, and have strong communication skills in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
