This position reports to: Service Operations Manager. Your role and responsibilities As a Field Service Engineer, you will perform service work in accordance with ABB's quality standards and safety guidelines. You will collaborate closely with both customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical hub that delivers quality and meets customer service needs. The role is based in Västerås, and you will be responsible for providing routine maintenance and technical support on-site or remotely. • Your tasks include troubleshooting, repairs, customer support, and preventive maintenance on our robotic systems. • You will troubleshoot equipment and provide recommendations to prevent future issues. • You will build and maintain strong customer relationships, assess customer needs, and provide specialist support and solutions. You will identify opportunities for the development of new service offerings, equipment, and methods. • You share ABB's core values regarding safety and integrity, meaning you take responsibility for your own actions while also feeling accountable for your colleagues and the business. • In your multifaceted job, you will handle both urgent and planned assignments within the robotics service area. You will engage in everything from corrective and preventive maintenance to production monitoring, programming, and commissioning. • The position includes on-call duties and travel. Your background • We consider it an advantage if you have post-secondary education with a technical focus, or equivalent professional experience. • You have experience reading electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and manuals. You have experience/knowledge of various vision systems. • To fit the role, it is a significant advantage if you have worked with ABB robots and automation. • You have programming skills, e.g., Rapid or RobotStudio. • You hold a valid driver's license and enjoy traveling for work. • You have a strong safety mindset, are adaptable, collaborative, and solution-oriented. • You work well in a team but also independently and share ABB's values with a focus on integrity, respect, and innovation. • You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
