F-3 Teacher for Preschool Class and After-School Care

Nordmarkens School is located in the southern part of Årjäng and is the municipality's largest school. It is a K-9 school with approximately 700 students and over 100 staff members. The school area consists of three different buildings, two of which are relatively new. One is for grades 1-6, another for grades 7-9, and the third for preschool and after-school care. We have three preschool classes and five after-school departments at Nordmarkens School. Each after-school department has about 30-40 students, and they collaborate on opening and closing times, with all meals served in the school cafeteria. As an after-school educator, you will primarily work with the preschool class during school hours. We have a well-functioning support system aimed at quickly identifying students' needs and providing early intervention. The school has special teachers, a special educator, a counselor, a school nurse, a study and career counselor, and through student health services, access to a school psychologist and school doctor. About the Role As a K-3 teacher in the preschool class, you will have overall pedagogical responsibility for the students in your group. You will plan, implement, and follow up on learning activities that stimulate children's knowledge development, curiosity, and social skills. The role also includes work in the after-school program, where you, together with colleagues, create meaningful, safe, and fun activities for the children before and after school hours. Here, you will have the opportunity to work with the students throughout the day and contribute to a holistic approach to their development. Responsibilities • Plan and implement educational activities in accordance with the curriculum. • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that meets each child's needs. • Collaborate with colleagues and guardians to ensure students' development and well-being. • Participate in development work, meetings, and follow-ups to continuously improve the operations. • Contribute to and be responsible for the after-school program by planning and leading activities based on the children's interests and needs. QUALIFICATIONS • Certified K-3 teacher with relevant education, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. • Experience working with preschool classes and/or after-school programs is an advantage. • Strong ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with both children and adults. • Commitment to children's learning and development, as well as the ability to adapt activities to individual needs. • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
