About this role
Ref. 4283S
We are currently seeking a nanny/additional adult who can spend time with the children after school, as well as handle some tasks while the children are in school. The position can be full-time but can also be divided into part-time, 75%, or something in between. The hours will vary from week to week depending on the parents' commitments.
The family is looking for an active nanny/additional adult who enjoys sports and being outdoors. Someone who takes initiative and comes up with fun activities to do with the children, takes them outside to play football, bakes/cooks together, etc. You will help and support the children in becoming independent, encourage them to keep track of their rooms and belongings, while being a supportive presence in the background.
A typical day might look like this: You pick up both children from school and take them to their activities, or you go straight home for a snack. You assist both children with their homework and ensure their bags are packed for the next day's needs. You prepare dinner for yourself and the children, which you eat together. Earlier in the day, you may have other tasks, such as cleaning the children's rooms, washing their clothes, or sorting out clothes and toys that the children no longer use. When traveling, you will ensure that the children's suitcases are packed, and when the children return home, you will take care of unpacking and laundry. Occasionally, you may need to travel with the entire family, but this would only happen a few times a year.
Your tasks will primarily focus on the children, as the parents have another person who helps with cleaning and assists the family with errands, etc. However, everyone helps out in the home and supports each other as needed.
It is a significant advantage if you have experience/skills in assisting with homework.
Often, both parents travel for work, and it is important that you can stay overnight with the children, which may involve several consecutive days. You need to be a flexible person, as working hours are mainly scheduled on weekdays; sometimes mornings, afternoons, and evenings, but occasionally may also include nights. The family also has another person who assists them, so the responsibility for covering all shifts does not fall solely on the nanny/additional adult, and typically the work is scheduled for 4 days a week, although hours and days may vary. A clear schedule will be set well in advance so that all parties can plan accordingly.
The children speak both Swedish and English, so the nanny/additional adult can be either Swedish- or English-speaking.
A driver's license is a plus but not a requirement. (Taxi services are available for times when children need to be taken to activities further away).
