About this role
We believe that progress and opportunities are best created together. Welcome to a place where collaboration makes a difference.
Your Role
Here, you'll have the opportunity to work where your expertise contributes to national protection, developing system solutions for Sweden's defense. Do you want to improve value streams from idea to delivery in an organization in transition? Then we'd like to talk to you.
As a System Safety Engineer at Saab Dynamics, you will work on developing advanced defense products, primarily missile systems. You will ensure that our systems meet the specified requirements and expectations regarding system safety and user protection. System safety is the discipline that ensures technical systems do not cause unacceptable harm to people, environment, or property by identifying, preventing, controlling, and mitigating hazards throughout the entire lifecycle - from idea and design to operation, maintenance, and decommissioning.
In this role, you will work through the entire development process: identifying product safety risks, deriving and managing safety requirements, analyzing design and architecture, and planning, implementing, and following up verification with documented requirement compliance.
As part of a structured transformation towards an agile way of working, we prioritize highest value first, ensure a functional core early on, and continuously calibrate our target image. You will be a key person in realizing this approach.
We are looking for someone who combines a holistic perspective with technical depth - you will systematically delve into our systems and explain how they should function to the right recipients. The role spans multiple technical areas with broad contact surfaces throughout the organization.
You will become a crucial team player who, together with the team, creates world-class products.
Your Profile
We are seeking candidates with:
* Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent
* Several years (3+ years) of experience in system work with system safety
* Experience working according to established standards in the field, such as MIL-STD 882E or equivalent
Meritorious:
* Ability to communicate system function and architecture to various stakeholders
* Domain knowledge in safety-critical or defense-related systems
* Experience in system architecture, including requirements management
* Experience with verification/validation and traceability from requirements to testing
* Experience with lean/agile working methods in cross-functional teams
* Good Swedish and English skills, both spoken and written
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to current security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has security classification requirements, this may, where applicable, entail certain citizenship requirements.
