About this role
Are you an experienced engineer who wants to contribute solutions for future missile systems? Join our growing team in the technical areas of Guidance, Navigation, Control, and Mission Management.
Your Role
As a GN&C engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing state-of-the-art guidance, navigation, and control systems for our advanced missile systems. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of our leading missile systems.
We are embarking on an exciting growth journey, heavily investing in capacity improvements, facilities, and our personnel through continuous learning, where both tasks and responsibilities will be adapted to your development and interests.
We currently have three sections responsible for Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C). Two are located in Linköping and one in Karlskoga. You will be part of the Karlskoga team.
The functions within GN&C's areas of responsibility are central to our products' behavior and interact across multiple systems. You will receive challenging and developmental tasks with great opportunities to build a broad network with skilled engineers and gain insight into several adjacent areas. We work across all development phases, from early concept studies and demonstrators to challenging functional development and final verification of customer requirements.
Work tasks may include:
* Performing system analysis and design
* Developing and simulating control systems
* Implementing navigation and mission planning algorithms
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of our working methods
Your Profile
We are seeking motivated and experienced engineers with a passionate interest in navigation, control, and modeling who enjoy solving complex problems.
To succeed in your role, you need to be able to build relationships and understand the need to be creative by communicating, initiating, and managing changes. You enjoy being in the company of others and are not afraid to ask for information when needed. We also expect you to work independently to solve your tasks when required. You also consider it important to contribute to a good work climate and team spirit, which we highly value.
We believe the ideal candidate has:
* Master's degree in engineering, or equivalent competence. Specialization in one or more areas such as control engineering, signal processing, optimization, aerospace engineering, or space technology.
* Good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
* Experience in system development, modeling, and simulation in military and/or civilian flying applications or the automotive industry.
Additionally, it is meritorious if you have:
* Experience in functional development within control systems, preferably from applications in autonomous and/or flying vehicles.
* Experience in navigation, both practical and theoretical. Preferably experience involving hardware and measurement test campaigns, advanced statistical signal processing for post-processing of measurement data, and algorithm functional development.
* Experience as a team/project leader.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to current security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has security classification requirements, this may entail specific citizenship requirements.
