Job Responsibilities
Your role as an experienced project manager in traffic systems
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with large and complex contract projects, where you will lead the work from planning to execution and follow-up. You will manage multiple stakeholders and teams simultaneously, ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule. You will represent the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) to contractors, suppliers, and other authorities. A typical project consists of approximately 20 people in roles such as sub-project managers, construction managers, and specialists. The projects encompass both operations and maintenance as well as larger reinvestments and improvements in areas such as:
• Traffic systems including motor control systems (MCS), traffic measurement, traffic signals, and traffic information.
• Technical solutions within complex facilities such as tunnels and movable bridges.
• Development and upgrades of traffic systems.
In your daily work, you will:
• Drive and coordinate - Manage multiple contracts simultaneously and ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Lead and coordinate - Work closely with specialists, consultants, and contractors to create successful collaborations.
• Ensure quality and results - Monitor costs, schedules, and requirements to optimize both project execution and long-term functionality.
• Develop and improve - Identify opportunities for improvements and implement solutions that enhance safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

We believe you are a driven and analytical project manager with previous experience leading complex projects. Your leadership is characterized by building trust, driving projects independently, and delivering results. You possess strong communication skills, allowing you to convey messages clearly, be receptive, and adapt your communication to your audience. You work in a structured manner, are proactive, and have a clear focus on quality; your analytical skills enable you to quickly grasp complex contexts.
To succeed in this role, you need to have:
• A university or college degree of at least 180 credits/120 ECTS with a technical focus, or another educational background complemented by relevant experience in project management and/or industry experience that Trafikverket deems equivalent.
• Several years of current and relevant experience in contract work as a client, consultant, or contractor.
• Solid years of current and relevant experience as a project manager or in equivalent leadership roles in the construction and civil engineering industry.
• A valid driver's license for passenger vehicles.
• Proficient knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Proficient knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you also have experience working with:
• Traffic systems such as motor control systems (MCS), traffic measurement, and traffic information.
• Procurement and contracts according to LOU and AB/ABT.
• Cost estimation, forecasting, and cost monitoring.
• Negotiation and contract management.
• Various project management models.
