Birkagården preschools consist of four locations: Karlavagnen, Sol-Ägget, Matteus, and 74:an. We operate according to preschool pedagogy where play and learning are central. It is important to us that every child feels safe at preschool, which is a prerequisite for development and learning. We maintain good communication with parents and strive to meet each child according to their unique needs and abilities.
Requirements
• Qualified preschool assistant. High school education within the care program, children and youth, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• At least 5 years of work experience in a preschool setting.
• Excellent command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• Experience in pedagogical documentation and familiarity with documenting in digital learning platforms.
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of childcare and pedagogy.
• Ability to create a safe and stimulating environment for children.
• Flexible and cooperative.
Your Role
Your role is to work alongside the team to advance the pedagogical efforts. We hope to find someone who, like us, is committed to providing children with a safe, developing, fun, and educational experience at preschool. We are looking for an individual who understands the importance of good and close cooperation with guardians and other key persons in the child’s surroundings. You are capable of building trust and confidence while being clear about your professional boundaries.
Responsibilities
As a preschool assistant, you contribute to ensuring that daily life at the preschool runs smoothly, and that care and the daily pedagogical work is based on children's engagement, participation, and choices. Together with other colleagues at the preschool, you help to create a positive, meaningful, and developmental environment for each child and the entire group. You participate in the pedagogical development work and pedagogical documentation according to the preschool's curriculum and operational goals. You also contribute at parent meetings and developmental conversations. In daily interactions with guardians, you are engaged, child-focused, and service-oriented.
Your Competence
The position requires you to master the Swedish language and communicate in Swedish both verbally and in writing. You are a qualified preschool assistant with extensive experience in the preschool setting and feel comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
