Job Description
Within the Environment business area, AFRY offers qualified consulting services in environment, sustainability, and contaminated areas. In Gothenburg/Halmstad, AFRY currently has four sections working on notification and permit cases, water and air investigations, environmental impact assessments, environmental studies, environmental technical ground investigations, environmental controls, risk assessments, sustainability, auditing, environmental management, and quality management. Our customers are from both private and municipal/state sectors.
As an experienced environmental consultant, your assignments can vary and involve everything from wind power, solar power, industries, and various water activities to infrastructure projects in railway and road, as well as environmental assessments in planning matters. You will have the opportunity to participate in various assignments locally, regionally, and nationally. We allow you to take significant personal responsibility and encourage you to take on project management roles, handle customer contacts, and, if interested, work on international assignments. If you have a specific specialist expertise, there is an opportunity to participate in developing our service offerings.
The demand for consultants in industrial permit matters is particularly high, and we are therefore specifically seeking someone who wants to complement and expand our offerings in this area.
AFRY has a large collective group of environmental consultants who collaborate across the country, ensuring quality assurance of assignments, exchanging important knowledge and experiences, supporting each other, and monitoring industry development together.
Qualifications
To succeed and enjoy your role as an environmental consultant, we are looking for someone who has:
• College or master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainable development, or similar,
• At least three years of professional experience in the environmental field,
• Good knowledge of permit processes and environmental impact assessments,
• Excellent ability to present investigations and results both in writing and verbally,
• An analytical and strategic mindset with a good ability to see opportunities and solutions that add value to our customers,
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written,
• B driver's license
It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have a few years of experience in:
• Working as a project manager or assignment leader,
• Working as an environmental consultant, environmental manager at a company or authority,
• Working with customers and other stakeholders to discuss and present assignments and provide recommendations.
