Are you an experienced/legal qualified attorney with an interest in development, contracts, and procurement?
We are currently seeking a legal advisor for the legal unit.
The Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) is a government agency with a broad mandate in the field of education. Our vision is education, exchange, and development – for all who wish to move forward. Among our tasks is to coordinate admissions to higher education and to administer the higher education test. We promote and support international collaborations and exchanges and facilitate opportunities for individuals with foreign qualifications to continue in their studies and professional lives. Additionally, we develop digital services in collaboration with educational institutions and provide analyses and recommendations that promote Swedish education as well as develop and implement the citizenship test.
In the legal unit, we provide support on all legal matters that arise within the agency and participate in the agency’s development work in projects or working groups. Apart from the agency’s attorneys, the unit also comprises an information security specialist, archivists, registrars, and investigators.
What you will do / be responsible for
As a legal advisor at UHR, you will work alongside your colleagues in the legal unit to provide legal support to the operations, including conducting legal investigations, preparing presentations for decision-making, responding to consultation requests, drafting regulations and other governing documents, addressing issues related to public access and confidentiality, data protection matters, and contract and administrative law, as well as contributing your legal expertise to various working groups and projects across the organization. In your role as a legal advisor, you will closely collaborate with other attorneys.
Since the position we are now seeking is focused on development, contracts, and procurement, you will particularly work on providing legal support in procurement matters and drafting and reviewing agreements and arrangements with suppliers and other authorities.
Who you are
We are looking for you who have:
• a law degree or equivalent
• at least four years of experience in qualified legal work
• experience in public procurement
• experience in dealing with complex legal issues and possess sound knowledge of data protection
• very good written and oral skills in Swedish and good knowledge of English, with the ability to articulate complex legal issues in a clear and audience-appropriate manner
• experience in collaborating with other professional groups
It is an advantage if you have:
• experience in business development
• experience with legal issues arising in connection with the provision and use of IT systems
• solid knowledge of administrative law and public access and confidentiality
