Do you want to help lead a socially significant operation that makes a difference every day? We are now seeking two committed and present unit managers for the reception and return centers in Malmö. You will have a meaningful and socially important managerial role in an organization characterized by development, change, and significant responsibility. Your workplace The reception and return center is undergoing significant development. You will work with issues that engage and affect people in a dynamic environment characterized by interactions with individuals and influenced by what happens in our surroundings. We are also close to the applicants as we work where they live, allowing us to operate more effectively and create a safer environment for them. It is an international environment, both because Malmö is a hub for arrivals and departures with proximity to Kastrup, and because the agency will become more integrated into a joint European asylum reception and EU agencies such as Frontex and EUAA over the next year. One will focus on the reception and return center in Malmö with round-the-clock staffing, including accommodation for screening and border procedures. The other unit will be linked to the return center in Burlöv with staffing during the day, evenings, and weekends, focusing on returns. About your assignment As the unit manager for the newly established unit in Malmö, you will be responsible for building the unit, including its staffing. The operation is undergoing extensive development, making close collaboration with colleagues around the center and their units essential. You will report to the section manager and be part of the section's management team alongside seven other unit managers. Here, you are expected to take full overall responsibility and manage your own issues that contribute to our collective goal achievement. You will be responsible for personnel, budget, and work environment, leading your unit by being present, supportive, clear, and solution-focused. Your unit will consist of approximately 20-25 employees with competencies such as team leaders, decision-makers, case officers, and assistants. These employees will need to be recruited to the unit. You have the ability to structure the work of the organization effectively. You are self-assured, demonstrate good judgment, and possess excellent collaboration and communication skills. In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a strong awareness of security and confidentiality. Requirements: - Academic education or another qualification combined with work experience deemed relevant by the employer for the position. - Relevant managerial experience with responsibility for budget, operations, and work environment. - Experience in leading and developing operations in change. - Good knowledge of expressing oneself well in spoken and written Swedish and English. Meritorious: - Managerial experience from public sector operations. - Knowledge of administrative law and experience in administrative case handling. - Knowledge of the Migration Agency's mission and operations.
