The Citizen Services Unit is part of the area of work and studies as well as citizen services, which is a section of the department for promoting and preventive social interventions. The main mission of citizen offices is to provide citizens with support, guidance, and community information regarding the various services of the City of Stockholm. The area is currently undergoing a reorganization where we are increasing the number of managers within Citizen Services from one to three positions. We are now looking for someone to lead the work within one of our three citizen offices in Rinkeby, Tensta, or Husby. Each Citizen Services unit consists of approximately 10–15 employees. Please read more about the benefits for employees of the City of Stockholm: Employee Benefits - City of Stockholm Your role As the unit manager, your main responsibilities will be to lead, follow up on, and develop the work within the unit. You will be responsible for the unit's operations, budget, and staff. You will work based on politically set goals and ensure that the operations maintain good quality, efficiency, and goal fulfillment. With your coaching leadership style, you will drive, organize, and create conditions for development work within the unit. You are responsible for ensuring that directly subordinate employees have the right conditions and adequate competencies for their assignments. This includes conducting employee appraisals, salary discussions, and planning and carrying out workplace meetings (APT). You will be part of the area's management team with four other unit managers and report directly to the area manager. In addition to budget, personnel, work environment, and operational responsibilities, the role also includes: - developing the unit's working methods - establishing systematic follow-up of operations - collaborating with the other two citizen offices in the area - developing partnerships with relevant stakeholders such as other units within the administration, other departments in the city, and social services - representing the operations both internally and externally - in your role, you will also be on-call manager alongside the department's managers Your competence and experience We are looking for someone who has: - Academic education as a social worker or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer - experience in staff management - relevant experience in social services - experience of working in a politically governed organization - experience in change management and driving development work - up-to-date knowledge in the field - strong proficiency in the Swedish language and the ability to express yourself well in spoken and written form We see it as an advantage if you have: - experience in a managerial role within the City of Stockholm - current knowledge of the restructuring work within social services - experience working at a citizen office The City of Stockholm has a managerial profile, and we will emphasize the following competencies in the recruitment process: - Goal and result-oriented: Works towards goals and focuses on results.
