We are seeking someone who wants to help shape future water and waste management solutions in a municipality where stories, nature, and people meet. As Unit Manager for Water and Waste Management, you'll become a key player in community development. You'll lead efforts to ensure safe, sustainable, and efficient water and waste management for the municipality's residents, businesses, and organizations. You'll be responsible for operation, development, and long-term planning of water networks, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, recycling centers, and collection systems. You'll lead with respect, development, and professionalism – Sunne municipality's core values that permeate both daily work and vision. Job Responsibilities - What does the role entail? You are responsible for: - Strategically and operationally leading the Water and Waste Management unit with a focus on sustainability, quality, and public benefit. - Ensuring operation and development of water facilities and recycling systems according to legal requirements and municipal goals. - Creating good working conditions for your employees and promoting a safe and inclusive work environment. - Keeping the operation within budget frameworks and following applicable laws, environmental requirements, and guidelines. - Collaborating with other units, authorities, contractors, and residents to create robust and future-proof solutions. You will be part of the community development management team and report to the Community Development Director. Qualifications We are seeking someone who: - Has relevant academic education in water management technology, environmental studies, urban planning, or equivalent field. - Has leadership experience with personnel, budget, and work environment responsibilities. - Is strategic, communicative, and has a genuine interest in sustainable community development. - Enjoys working in a politically governed organization and has a good understanding of municipal operations. - Holds a B driver's license and is proficient with IT.
