The Water and Recycling operational area works for a sustainable future by ensuring clean water in both taps and watercourses, and by promoting more sustainable consumption with reduced waste. We achieve this by developing, maintaining, and improving our operations.
About the Role
As the Unit Manager for Water Distribution, you have overall responsibility for leading and developing the unit that provides essential water services to the residents of Mölndal on a daily basis. Your mission includes management of the budget, work environment, and personnel, and you will drive both strategic and operational work forward in line with the city’s goals and vision.
In this role, you are responsible for leading the unit's operations regarding water distribution, managing a team of approximately 20 employees, including 2 operational managers. This entails planning, following up, and developing operations, new installations, and maintenance of water pipes in-house. You will drive and oversee projects within the distribution area, ranging from operational and maintenance efforts to ongoing service, while ensuring that the work is conducted in accordance with applicable safety regulations and environmental standards.
A key part of the role involves coordination, where you collaborate closely with other departments, contractors, and various municipal operations. You handle environmental issues, ensure that work environment plans are met, and are responsible for planning, scheduling, staffing, and monitoring within operational systems.
The position may involve working with classified information, requiring a security clearance and background check. On-call duty may also be required.
You will be part of the Water and Recycling Management Group and participate in forums such as management meetings, leadership breakfasts, and internal leadership sessions.

You have extensive knowledge of work environment issues related to the construction phase and a genuine interest in new technologies and innovative solutions.
It is advantageous if you possess technical understanding of water distribution and have experience with construction contracts, strong knowledge of construction AMA, as well as the ability to interpret water pipeline maps.
As a person, you excel at building relationships and collaborating with various stakeholders, both internally and externally.
