About this role
Job Description
SiS is in the midst of a comprehensive transformation, developing its operations on multiple levels simultaneously. We are improving and adapting our work based on new and changing needs in both society and our own organization. We know that developing and engaged managers are a crucial prerequisite for meeting today's and tomorrow's assignments.
As a Unit Manager, you will lead, plan, follow up, and refine the work at our new Karlsvik Department, a discharge-preparatory unit located in Höör, belonging to SiS Youth Home Hässleholm. The department focuses on young people in the transition phase who are not deemed to require care in locked facilities. You will be responsible for leading the department to achieve set goals and have overall treatment responsibility for the youth living there. You will ensure that common working methods and approaches are used and followed, and support your 25 employees in their work. You will make sure that your subordinates have the necessary competence for the care and treatment provided by the department and the conditions to perform their tasks in a good and safe work environment.
As a Unit Manager, you will have operational, personnel, and budget responsibilities. To create a stable and efficient management, the department includes, in addition to you, a team leader and a treatment secretary. The team leader's primary task is to plan, coordinate, and operationally lead and distribute daily work, as well as support employees. The treatment secretary's task is to coordinate and plan care and treatment for the youth in our facility. Together, you form a department team that leads the department in close collaboration.
You will be part of the institution's management group, where you, together with the institution chief and your management colleagues, share responsibility for the entire operation.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
• Academic degree of at least 180 credits in social sciences, care, or behavioral sciences, or another relevant academic degree
• Several years of experience working in areas focused on care, treatment, and security, such as social services, care and treatment, correctional services, or other relevant activities
• Documented current experience in a leadership role
• B driver's license
It is meritorious if you have:
• Experience in management with operational, budget, and personnel responsibilities
Personal Characteristics:
Since the operation is often event-driven, you need to be comfortable making decisions, reprioritizing, and quickly changing both pace and direction. You remain calm and professional in challenging situations and have the ability to adapt to changing conditions. At the same time, high demands are placed on having a holistic view and being able to work systematically to ensure care quality based on the agency's goals, guidelines, values, and applicable laws. You know how to prioritize and easily set and follow up on results.
To be suitable for the role, we want you to take responsibility for the whole and realize SiS's vision and goals. You create conditions for good results and tackle challenges, acting with courage when needed. You are a good role model and show trust in your employees' and colleagues' competence, encouraging their development and taking personal responsibility. You involve your employees in our development work and create conditions for active employee participation and a learning organization. You promote good collaboration within SiS and with other partners. You are communicative and create dialogue, participation, and engagement.
At SiS, we care about good leadership. This means that as a manager and leader, you take responsibility for the whole, act as a good role model, drive development, promote good collaboration, and are clear in your communication.
We place great importance on your personal characteristics.
