Description
The Social Administration of Hisingen is divided into the departments of Children and Youth Authority, Children and Youth Resources, Adult and Psychology Unit, Income Support, and District Area, Welfare & Leisure, as well as support functions HR, Finance, and Staff.
The Children and Youth Resources department consists of approximately 170 employees across nine units - Preventive Unit 0-6 years, Preventive Unit School Years, Young Hisingen, Child Resource Unit, Family Resource Unit, High-Intensity Team (HIT), Foster Care Units 1 and 2, and Residential Care and Support Housing Sambuh.
Would you like to lead our preventive work in collaboration?
We will expand with an additional unit manager for the department based on managers' and employees' conditions and the transition to the new Social Services Act, focusing on preventive and early interventions. The unit includes approximately 17 positions working preventively and targeting children and youth in preschool age, i.e., parent support workers and FCA coordinators. Employees are spread across multiple workplaces. Your workplace will be at Höstvädersgatan 1, where some of your colleagues and fellow unit managers are located.
Job Responsibilities
Your primary task as unit manager is to engage, inspire, and support employees to achieve the unit's goals and mission. Your assignment includes workplace responsibility for employees in your unit, ensuring that workplace environment work is conducted according to applicable laws and guidelines, and that union collaboration occurs as per the cooperation agreement. You are responsible for coordinating, developing, and following up on the unit's activities according to current legislation and quality work. Job duties include operational, budget, and personnel management, including systematic workplace environment management. As a unit manager, you will be part of several steering and collaboration groups for family centers and family-centered approaches in Hisingen, working with preschool, open preschool, health center/child healthcare center, and midwifery clinics. Tasks include managing daily issues and developing the unit, strengthening the child perspective and participation for children, youth, and their families towards a knowledge and evidence-based social service. You will also serve as a method supervisor for parent support workers, receiving and distributing assignments, providing individual and group method guidance, and following up and evaluating ongoing unit assignments. You will be supported by various support functions such as business developers, process leaders, HR specialists, financial controllers, and administrators.
Qualifications
- Social Work degree or equivalent education
- Leadership experience is required, as is experience in preventive work such as parent support, preventive social work, or similar
- Excellent experience in interprofessional work and coordinating collaboration issues is also required
- Previous management experience is meritorious
