The Social Services Administration in the City of Stockholm has an overarching and coordinating role for individual and family care social services and the disability area. Here, good conditions are created to meet residents in need of social services support. In close collaboration with district administrations, we contribute to a modern, digital, legally secure, equal, and knowledge-based social service with a strong development focus. Within the administration, a wide range of support services are offered to the city's residents, and the range changes based on Stockholm residents' needs and district administrations' wishes. The work often occurs in close collaboration with other authorities, civil society, and the business sector. The Social Services Administration is also responsible for the city's restaurant and tobacco permits and performs supervision. Welcome to us The Alcohol and Tobacco Permits and Supervision area consists of approximately 50 employees distributed across five units, of which three are permit assessment units. The area's mission is to ensure good compliance with alcohol and tobacco laws in the city's restaurants regarding serving permits and sales locations regarding tobacco permits. The requirements for service and legal certainty in handling are high, and we aim to facilitate and support entrepreneurs who want to operate their businesses in Stockholm. The Alcohol and Tobacco Permits and Supervision area is in an eventful development phase, and the operation is growing. We are now seeking a unit manager for one of our three permit units. Your Role As a unit manager, you will lead a permit assessment unit consisting of approximately 10 investigation secretaries and a group leader. You have a central role in ensuring good service, both internally within the area and externally to Stockholm's business operators. The permit units handle applications and notifications related to the legislation the area manages (Alcohol Act, Tobacco and Similar Products Act, and Tobacco-Free Nicotine Products Act). Together with other managers in the area, you are responsible for handling incoming cases efficiently and legally securely. The role also involves external contacts with restaurateurs, traders, other city administrations, and the police. The area is under development, and we are currently reviewing our processes to offer even better service to the business sector. You will therefore play an important role in developing the operation together with the rest of the management team. Your Main Tasks: - Lead and distribute work within the unit, with full operational, budget, and personnel responsibility for the unit's employees - Ensure quick and efficient case management - Follow up case flows and processing times - Identify and initiate development and improvement work in close collaboration with managers, group leaders, and employees - Take initiative to and maintain contacts with other administrations, authorities, and the business sector in our area - Monitor the outside world within the operational area and integrate new knowledge into the operation's development work You will report to the area manager and be part of the area's management team. Your Competence and Experience We are seeking someone who has: - Relevant university degree, for example in law - Current experience in a leadership function, such as team leader, project manager, or similar - Work experience in case management in the public sector, preferably from various activities and organizations - Very good communication skills in both speech and writing in Swedish It is meritorious if you have: - Management experience from the public sector - Experience working in the alcohol and/or tobacco area or similar - Experience conducting major change work - Experience in business development In this recruitment, we will place great emphasis on your commitment to the assignment and personal suitability based on the city's management profile.
