The Healthcare Unit (VE) for Eye Care belongs to the Area of Operations (VO) for Skin, Reproductive Medicine, and Eye Care. The Healthcare Unit has approximately 250 employees across our facilities in Malmö and Lund. In addition, we also provide regional healthcare for Halland, Kronoberg, and Blekinge.
Our work is at the forefront of both basic and specialist medical training. We also conduct outstanding research in close collaboration with Lund University.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As Unit Manager, you will have overall management responsibility for operations, personnel, work environment, and finances. Your mission is to lead daily work, being present for staff, and promoting teamwork with other professionals.
We work proactively, and together with your management colleagues, you will participate in and develop strategic work in our local management group. This group is responsible for leading personnel work that supports each individual. We strive for a competent and enjoyable work environment that ensures quality and safety for our patients. Sustainable planning, skills provision, and responsibility allocation are our shared focus. In your role, you are expected to be well-informed and take significant responsibility for driving both your own unit and shared operations forward. The Area Manager will be your supervisor.
In addition to your administrative tasks as Unit Manager, you are also expected to work clinically. Initially, the clinical part will be limited but will gradually increase as you become more established in the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are primarily seeking a trained operating room nurse or someone with other relevant healthcare education authorized to practice in Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. The position requires previous leadership and/or management experience, as well as extensive experience in healthcare. We also look positively on relevant leadership education, as you will be leading nursing work in the unit.
As a person, you are confident in your professional role and driven to lead and develop people. You work easily both independently and in groups with your colleagues. Your communication skills and interest in people enable you to create good relationships and collaboration both within and outside the unit.
Your leadership is characterized by an inspiring approach. You understand the value of acknowledging employees' work efforts and development, and you have the ability to elevate others, create positive energy, and lead by example in your daily work. At the same time, you are goal and results-oriented, focusing on driving the organization forward. As a manager, you are attentive and understanding. You communicate clearly and can set boundaries for yourself and the work group.
