About this role

Do you have previous managerial experience and are you interested in building and leading the development of a new unit where the whole family is at the center? Then this position at our new outpatient unit for children and adolescents is for you! The Stockholm Center for Eating Disorders (SCÄ) is one of the largest specialist clinics in the world for patients with eating disorders and receives patients of all ages. We have a well-developed operation with outpatient care, day care, and round-the-clock care for both adults, children, and adolescents. Today, we have nearly 280 employees. In early 2026, we will open another outpatient clinic for children and adolescents with eating disorders in Södermalm, Stockholm. Please read more about our operations here. The outpatient clinics for children and adolescents provide specialized eating disorder treatment for patients under 18 years old. Currently, there is a unit for children and adolescents with about 15 employees. Here, nurses, psychologists, psychotherapists, dietitians, physiotherapists, and doctors work together. We are continuously recruiting, and in early 2026, we will open another unit and then divide the staff group in two to ensure that each manager does not have too many employees. Our primary treatment focus is family-based therapy (FBT). We have supervision from James Lock, who developed the method, and in 2026 we will expand with supervision from the Maudsley Hospital in London. Job Responsibilities: As a unit manager, you will be part of the section management for outpatient care for children and adolescents. You will work closely with the deputy unit manager, other unit managers, MLA, and the section manager. In this role, you will work particularly closely with the unit manager for Outpatient Care for Children and Adolescents – you will collaborate closely to ensure equitable care across both units, and the staff groups will have joint supervision and methodology. You will lead and allocate work within the group, propose new working methods, and ensure high-quality and patient-safe care based on available evidence. You will be responsible for finances, development, work environment, patient safety, environmental and quality work. Together with your employees, you will work to achieve goals and ensure that care maintains the highest possible quality. Your responsibilities include, for example: - Collaborating with the existing unit manager to build a new unit - Actively participating in management and governance, as well as driving change and improvement initiatives - Recruiting, staffing, and planning for competencies - Promoting cohesion and well-being within the work group - Creating structure and developing the unit's routines - Communicating SCÄ's vision, goals, values, and results within your own operations so that employees are given the conditions to perform their work Employment Type: Permanent employment in a basic position. Managerial appointment for three years at a time. Full-time, 40 hours/week. A probationary period may be applied. Qualifications: We are looking for someone who is a licensed psychologist, a specialist nurse in psychiatry, or has another post-secondary education that the employer deems relevant. You have experience in clinical work in one of the competencies available at the unit. You have previous managerial experience in psychiatry - experience in child and adolescent psychiatry is an advantage. Experience and knowledge of eating disorder treatment and family-based therapy are also considered advantageous, as is experience working with Region Stockholm's various IT systems such as Heroma and Take Care.
