About this role

Psychiatry Northwest is a university clinic located in the northwestern part of Stockholm County's healthcare area (SLSO). Our mission is to provide specialist-level psychiatric care in outpatient and inpatient settings to all individuals aged 18 and older who are registered in Stockholm County. Our goal is to offer high-quality treatments to our patients while simultaneously creating a pleasant and inspiring work environment for our employees. The NHV unit for adults with severe self-harming behaviors is currently in an exciting phase of growth and is seeking a new unit manager. The unit is part of Psychiatry Northwest, which is a university clinic in the northwestern region of Stockholm County's healthcare area (SLSO). The NHV care for adult patients with severe self-harming behaviors has been provided by Psychiatry Northwest since 2023. We are now poised to expand the operation with the aim of reaching 10 care places for patients from across the country. In addition to delivering expert care for this patient group, NHV is also tasked with being a knowledge center in the field. The unit will offer training, supervision, consultation and advice, remote services to patients and their families, as well as innovative development projects and high-level research. Collaboration with other NHV units that work with the same patient group is highly prioritized. We are now looking for a committed, structured, and collaborative unit manager to lead and develop the operations and to join the clinic's section management group. In the near future, the day care operations will move to new, larger premises, located closer to the inpatient care at Danderyd Hospital, where many of the unit's patients are treated when not participating in day care treatment. As the unit manager for NHV, you will have personnel responsibility for both daytime staff and those who care for patients during their stay in inpatient care. The NHV staff from the unit will accompany patients to day care and provide care for them there as well. Currently, the staffing consists of doctors, nurses, psychologists, nursing assistants, social workers, and a prospective administrator. All clinical staff are trained in dialectical behavior therapy, which is the foundational method for the operation. As the unit manager, you will develop the content of care in conjunction with the staff group, based on evidence and a commitment to continuous development. Responsibilities: As the unit manager, your overall responsibility is to lead, delegate work, monitor, and develop NHV care and its team members. You will be responsible for the finances, personnel, work environment, and environmental issues of the NHV unit. Daily work entails an active presence and a vibrant engagement with the unit, in close collaboration with responsible medical doctors and other staff. We also expect you, as a member of the section's management team, to have the ability and interest to broaden your perspective and influence the development of the clinic and overarching issues. You will report to the section manager. We are looking for someone with experience in specialist psychiatry and a valid license as healthcare personnel. We prefer that you have experience from psychiatric inpatient care and psychiatric outpatient/day care. Previous management experience is a prerequisite. Clinical experience working with the target group is advantageous. Significant emphasis will be placed on good leadership qualities and strong collaboration skills. We want you to be attentive, loyal, innovative, unpretentious, and engaged. You are communicative and clear in your leadership style, capable of spreading joy within the staff group and encouraging a team to work towards common goals. As a person, you are positive, thrive in a dynamic environment, and dare to take initiatives. The unit is in a growth phase, which requires you to be driven by long-term goals, while having the capacity to take one step at a time and see your role in the bigger picture. Personal suitability is of great importance. Employment type: Fixed-term appointment as unit manager with a permanent position in the basic role. Working hours Monday to Friday (40 hours/week). Additional information: We offer generous benefits such as flexible working hours, wellness allowances, wellness hours, free open healthcare, occupational pension, multiple insurance options, and extended vacation after 40 years.
